If you are familiar with other Portastand stands, the Commoner is like a Troubadour without the nylon cover or Wind Resistors. Another way to look at it is that its a Minstrel with a greater height reach.

Just like the Minstrel, the 17 tripod is held to the front desk lip by E-Z secure straps for transport. But just like the Troubadour, the 21-wide metal desk is large enough for 2-3 full pages of sheet music. Additionally, the Commoner maintains compatibility with the full line of Portastand accessories.
